A friend has called me today telling me he’ll travel with his partner to Paris this spring. They were looking for a place to stay at.
I’ve been in a very nice little hotel in the Quartier Latin when I visited Paris in 1999 (can’t believe that’s already TEN years ago!). I looked it up an my calendar of that year and told my friend about it who instantly looked it up on the internet. And there it is:
It still looks the same as when I had been there!
I can only recommend this place that has its own little garden and indivdually designed rooms. The hotel stuff was really friendly, we even had a bath tub in our bathroom and it’s close to the Jardin du Luxembourg and Notre Dame.
There’s nothing more beautiful than Paris in spring (yes, I know that’s a cliché but it’s true!) and this hotel just made it perfect:
HOTEL DES GRANDES ECOLES
75, rue Cardinal Lemoine
75005 Paris/France

Looks like a nice hotel and even the room rates are quite reasonable. This looks better than the one I already booked for my upcoming visit. I think the Latin Quartier is a very good location to stay.
Yes, I can recommend this hotel, too. When I was in Paris, I found it near Panthéon: a really marvellous place to stay in the centre of Paris with the atmosphere of a cottage in the countryside. And it is not as expensive as it looks.
